The MyState Student Festival was created by MyState Financial. We run the festival every year, but we don’t do it alone. Here’s some of the organisations that help us.
Wide Angle Tasmania
Wide Angle Tasmania supports screen culture statewide. We are a not for profit organisation that nurtures local talent by providing advice, training, access to film production equipment and production initiatives. Wide Angle Tasmania can provide schools and students with equipment to help make your films – including cameras, sound, lighting and editing gear. We can courier the gear to your front door and provide assistance on the phone, by email or in person at our office in Salamanca.
Wide Angle Tasmania supports the screening of Tasmanian films and we are very proud to donate the prize for this year’s Technical Achievement Award for the MyState Student Film Festival.

Cooper Screen Academy
COOPER SCREEN ACADEMY is committed to helping Tasmanian actors learn the skills and knowledge needed to forge successful careers in the entertainment industry, both locally and further afield.
With the support of Screen Tasmania, Cooper Screen Academy provides professional acting training for Tasmanian performers aged 10 years and up in Goodwood Film Studios in Tasmania (home of ABC's Collectors) including exciting school holiday programs to all corners of the state.
Weekly classes develop students' individual acting skills, focussing on creating effective on screen performances and teaching the technical aspects of screen performance. Students work with film, television and TV commercial scripts and their class footage is made available to them at home each week via an online web program.
Cooper Screen Academy, Tasmania’s only dedicated screen acting institution, proudly sponsors the 2011 MyState Student Film Festival’s Most Engaging Talent award. Cooper Screen Academy students Rob Manion and Kate Hutchinson feature in this year’s fantastic MAKE IT commercials.
